Snail
Carrying always with her
Her safety, her protection
Call it
Her home
She goes anywhere
And yet always at home!
And
I leave my home behind
Worrying about it when away,
Return to it every evening
To be at home!
I wonder what a strange creature this
Why does she have to carry whole home with her?
And
She wonders what an animal this
Hardly at home!

Excellent comparison.
I like this one, Harshad. "One's home is one's castle" applies to the snail just as it does to us.
Now, the homeless around here, they carry everything they own with them on their backs or in a stolen grocery cart. We do have a very lot of homeless people in our country and in our own town.
..
What a unique tale. I like the image and the poem. Nicely written.
so sweet....love it!!
charming poem. reminds me of myself carrying around my life in my handbag.
I suppose it's a matter of being at home in ourselves wherever we are. Not easy.
