HIS GRACE

Who am I ?

  I have my fears  &

  I have my hopes.

I am my fears when
I talk about it,
I take shelter behind it,
I make a show of it,
I let it rule me,
I let others address it or
When I think I am it.

  I am my hopes when
  I see it,
  I talk about it,
I think it will come true,
My actions are ruled by it,
  I am working for it,
  Others address to it or
When I think it is me.

  Who am I?
  My fears  or
  My hopes?

  Whose choice is it?

 Friends,

‘Who am I?’ was written six years back in ’04.  As the poem reads, I then thought it was a
choice of an individual to select an attitude and live his life.

Today there seem to be a shift. As the haiku ‘My Choice?’  reads, I think though it may appear
to be my choice to me, awareness of choice itself is a result of His grace.
One can easily slip in a state of mind that has no choice. Isn't it?

Life has taught me this in the the span of six years . HIS grace.

My Choice?

His grace

And

You remain aware of choices, always.

What doesn't Change?

What has changed ??

Then,

I loved you for your glowing complexion,
I loved you for your sharp features,
I loved you for long & silky hair,
I loved you for your figure,
I loved your smartness.

I loved for what you possessed.

Now,

I love you more for you don’t have a baby complexion,
I love you more for you have lost your teeth,
I love you more for your hair expose your scalp,
I love you more for you have a hunch,
I love you more & more as you loose each of your possessions.

For without your possessions,
Revealed is real YOU.

YOU  are  beautiful.

Flight

Flight  (OSI Prompt : Empty)

It was little difficult
Gravity pulled
....But I persisted.

I go up… some distance and fall
I persist…

Slowly….. it begins to happen
I am above the ground for long distance
….before I fall.

And
One day I fly
In the sky,
Gravity doesn’t matter
Up and down, floating
With current of air…..
......Expanding…..shrinking….
Up…down….
In that emptiness
As long as I wish.

When I land
I am calm,
Full.
Mind sings songs of heart.

Opening up.....

Opening up…..closed windows

Why? Why should I??
Why not?
Not in my interest….No, not at all…..

Tense, restless,
Suffocated…..
Feelings trapped…..
Not finding a way to deal with the situation,
Tired…
I go to sea shore nearby.

Seated under open sky,
Pensive,
……Watching sun set.

Slowly……
Cool breeze, sound of sea,
Colorful sky…….
Get into me.
Body loosens & feels relaxed.

Beauty of nature outside
Connect and awaken
Within me
Its formless counterpart -my true nature,
Opening up closed windows.
Fresh breeze flow in.

Now……
Concern for my rights and interests
Changes to compassion & consideration,
Wanting to control replaced by desire to serve.

Suddenly,
Situation looks different....
there are many ways to deal with.

Smile passes my face.

Excellence

  Excellence

Humming, singing
Spinning wheel
Creating earthen pots
That earns her enough
For her to call it good.

She felt calm, content.
Love spilling to show
On the pots she made.

“Excellent. These are best in town,
Strong & well shaped”
Said a customer to another
Visiting her hut.

Smile passed her face.

Where is the beginning
of
Excellence?

Within

Within

Lines being added
Colors splashed,
Perception of what is it
Changing with passage of time,
A connoisseur is in awe
Wondering who the painter is!

Connection

Connection

Training,
Experience,
Dedication,
Knowledge
And opportunity create a
Connoisseur

A piece of art
A loving heart often comes across,
Makes her smile,
laugh,
Feel sad or
shed tears….
Her soul feels connected.
No expert she is.

Wonder who will artist want to hug?

Nature Unfolding

Nature Unfolding

A narrow path, seen passing by,
Hey, what is that, does it lead to that lake?
Turned around and ventured in
Rough, bouncy, barely motorable
But enthusiasm was driving hard.

And about two Km. off the highway
Revealed was
Beauty that filled heart & soul.
Virgin- no traffic, no people
No electric poles,
Peace, serenity, vastness
Cool…meditative.
Just raw nature
And
Us.

Entering that narrow path
Was entering a cocoon
Full of life
Unfolding.

Note: About three hours drive from Mumbai or Pune, a place that is so beautiful and yet so scarcely peopled is unbelievable. Attached are few pictures of that heaven we experienced yesterday.

My friend whispered after a long calm, money cannot get this! I agreed.

(Please don’t ask me exact location for I will like you to find it – life reveals itself to one who is eager).

Encounter

Encounter

Sparks ignited as eyes met

Lightning strikes

It is over in moments.

Note : This is my first attempted Haiku.
