One Single Impression : Shackles

Within reasons!!

Reasons demand ‘no, not done
‘Stay within boundaries’

She remains confined.
Within walls of reasons
Maintaining balance.

She is an
Emotional eater,
Exercises regularly to maintain herself

Sometimes, though not often,
is seen
Staring far away………..,
Deep into the sky.

……but returns quickly
Within boundaries.

She is known as
A good homemaker.

Sometimes there can be expectations that create boundaries or shackles. Sometimes those expectations can be self generated! Lovely poem!

Such stupid shackles we allow ourselves to live under! You capture this so well!

Wonderfully written when the important thing is to be ourselves.

I can picture my Mom here, I would imagine that her far off stare was her dreaming of being someone else. You penned this well.

Sometimes, it's good to be "shackled" to the one you love. Very nicely done.

Her struggle of 'maintaining balance' is seldom noticed.
It is pleasure and pain at same time.

very well expressed.

Wow! That is an awesome poem and really hits home with me- about shackles being expectations. Excellent job!

The struggles to stay within reason--when life so often is unreasonable.

Shackled to being a homemaker!
All work and no play makes Mary a dull lady. I am glad she stepped over her line once in a while.

Shackles are sometimes the silk threads that keep us grounded. Really interesting perspective here. I shall ponder it some more.
