One Single Impression : WRONG

Friends,

I just got up after watching a live debate about conversion of two Muslims in Kashmir valley on  TIMES NOW.  It was a terrible show. Quality of debate was nowhere near mellowness & serenity such discussions require.
Faith became a matter of ego instead a tool that alleviate harmony, love.

Following verse is a result of that discussion – that noise.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Faith,
A subject of heart.

Debated on a news channel

Arguments and counter arguments
All products of limited minds
Play of egos
Creating noises
Troubled Heart feels lost in that
Noisy bazaar
And no one cares!

Missing is serenity that connects
Missing is
Faith.

Well said Harshadji..I also watch Times Now and those debates...yes, one feels troubled to see the so called wisdom becoming a tool in the hands of ego...but in spite of that heart continues to beat in those moments of noise and chaos..are we a race that's moving forward.. difficult to make out..may the sanity reach a critical mass..

As I see it, fanaticism is always wrong, no matter what side.

"Noisy bazaar" put me immediately in mind of the political debates we are being inundated with here in the US.

I also appreciate this as the issue of faith is a personal inquiry of mine right now. Thanks!

Hi Harshad ~~ Mrs. Jim and I went to a movie last night, Iron Lady. Will it play over there?
It was about Margaret Thatcher, Priminister of Britain, back in the mostly 80's and 90's. Several times she said the people running for office in this (those) days were running so they could hold the office, not for their beliefs and their ideas for the country.

It reminded me a lot of your verse. We have that here today also, people running for office for the wrong reasons.

It's sad that people use religion to score political points. I believe that true faith should always demonstrate hope and love. Nicely written.

It is sad when faith gets lost in the noise of debate. Things always go wrong when egos get involved. This is a thoughtful poem, well written.

I hate when the message gets lost in egos and noise- it can't help but come out all wrong!

Faith is not for the faithful. Its for the people with vested interest.

You are right. It is hard and sad when matters of faith become spectacles.
